Thunderball Grotto

1. A vault wholly or partly under ground; especially, a vault under a church, whether used for burial purposes or for a subterranean chapel or oratory.

This is where they filmed part of the 007 movie, Thunderball. And where we’ll be by Christmas. According to the intertubes, the entrance is completely submerged at high tide. That means you have to swim underwater to get inside.

Oooooh… we can barely wait.

  1. Been there, done that. There are dinghy moorings outside of the entrance also. Go when the sun is high - there is an opening on the top. Like swimming in an aquarium with lots of big fish. Even when the entrance is submerged it is an easy swim in, with fins you don’t have to hold your breath for very long.
