A Brief Cell Phone Conversation I Had With My Friend Andrea Right Before I Crashed Her Company Christmas Party

Filed under: Family & Friends — DavidB @ 2:24 am

Andrea: Hello.

Me: Hey. It’s David. Are you partying in Clear Lake tonight?

Andrea: Nope. We’re at my company Christmas Party.

Me: No kidding. We’re just leaving Dana’s party. Where is your party?

Andrea: It’s at the Houstonian. It’s very nice. They have a good band. All you can drink.

Me: No way! I’m maybe 5 minutes from there. What’s the name of your company?

Andrea:

Me:

Andrea:

Me:

Andrea: Why do you want to know?

Me: Why do you think I want to know?

Andrea: David, it’s a very small company.

Me: I’ll be subtle.

Andrea: You’re not very good at subtle.

Me: I can learn. C’mon. I won’t embarrass you.

Andrea:

Andrea:

Me: I could call Jody. I bet she would tell me the company name.

Andrea: Not fair. Not fair at all…

Me: It’ll be fun. I promise I’ll behave.

Andrea:

Me:

Andrea: Ok. You’re from the Austin office. You work on computers. You can’t talk because your tongue was stung by a bee. You will stand in the corner and drink your beer and not talk to anyone.

Me: Cool. We’ll be there in 5 minutes. How big is the dance floor?

Here’s a picture of me and some lawyer guy I met at the party.

  1. This is a great story. Except for the part where I would leak the important information. Am I that person?

  2. Oh, you know it was you. And you would have told me the company name.

Especially if I told you where the party was.

  3. Obviously we’re far removed from the world. We have no idea who the ‘lawyer guy’ is. Obviously he’s someone we should recognize because Dana said we had to look at the blog today, and then we’d talk. Clueless…

  4. It’s hard to recognize him because he has a “BUD LIGHT” in his hand. Must be watching the carbs for the J80. Usually, it’s a BUD WIIIIIISE ERRRRRRRRR.

  5. My parents scare me. My parents party way more than I do and I’m 16. Does anyone else think that is a bit odd?

  6. Really Chelsea? Your parents scare you? You must have a low tolerance for fear.
